Haslington man beaten, robbed by cutlass-wielding bandits

A Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man is now nursing minor injuries about his body after he was beaten and robbed by four men, one of whom was armed with a cutlass.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday evening at about 21:55h at the Haslington Tarmac Road, ECD. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Randy Leacock of 293 Haslington Housing Scheme, ECD.
Based on reports received, Leacock was riding his bicycle south along the western side of the Haslington Tarmac Road, heading towards the Railway Embankment, when he observed the four men standing next to a shop.
However, as he approached the men, they reportedly stepped into his path, circled him, and dealt him several lashes about his body with the cutlass.
While beating him, the men relieved him of his valuables. He was robbed of one cell phone and $2500 in cash. Following the robbery, the men made good their escape on foot.
No one has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
