Hicks looking to take Track Attack

Berbice cycling star and defending champion Andrew Hicks will be looking to make it two in two when he competes in the 2016 Track Attack cycling event organised by the Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC) of Berbice which will be held this Sunday, November 13 at the Rose Hall Community Center Ground, East Canje.
Hicks, who was a member of the Trojan cycling club but now represents We Stand United, speaking with Guyana Times Sport said that he is confident that he can defend his title as he has developed a lot since the last time.
Hicks also won eight other lap races as well as the Devil take the Hindmost while placing amongst the top riders in the recently concluded National Sports Commission Three-stage race.
Throughout the day, it is expected that there will be events for all riders including categories such as Open, juniors, juveniles, BMX, veterans, school boys, starters, females and school girls including the 5000, the 3000 and 1500 meters events. There will also be flat races of various, categories, distances and age groups including the much anticipated 100M and 200M events.
Cyclists and athletes from across Berbice are expected to trek to the venue to be a part of the day’s activities. All the top cyclist of the club and a few others from the Berbice area are expected to take part in the day’s action.
Last year, Curtis Dey of The FACC for his part rode away with the U16 six and five lap events while up and coming top female cyclist Whitney Poyer also of the FACC won the female five and six lap races.
The day’s event is expected to ride off at 10:00h.
