There will be 10 male teams and seven female teams from across the region converging at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown for the July 3 to 16 youth tournament.
In the male tournament Group A will seed the British Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, and Antigua while Group B will have Aruba, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica.
In the female tournament, Group A will see British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Barbados and Guyana with The Bahamas, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago in Group B.
After the draw, Hinds noted that he was very optimistic of Guyana’s chances in both the male and female championships. He also noted that the teams would both be able to reach the semi-final rounds of both tournaments at the least.
“We [GABF] look forward to the continued support from the Government of Guyana, we will be reaching out to corporate Guyana to ensure that the CBC championships are handled exceptionally well,” Hinds added.
The Guyana teams will be chosen one month before the competition and will be encamped for one month leading into the Championships.
The male games bounce off on July 3 and on July 12 for the female teams.
