Housewife beaten, robbed by bandit dressed as Police

A 53-year-old housewife of Land of Canaan Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD) has been beaten and robbed of her valuables by a lone bandit who was dressed as a Police.
Reports are that the robbery occurred at about 15:55h on Tuesday.
Police have since said that the woman was sitting in a chair on the northern side of her yard, speaking with her aunt on her cellphone when a man dressed in a blue and black Police uniform opened the gate and entered the yard. At the time, the man was armed with a hand gun, the woman said in her statement.
According to the woman, the man approached her and demanded that she hand over all her valuables, and he then attempted to force her into the house, but she resisted, and a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, the housewife received a hit to her head with the handgun.
The perpetrator then relieved her of a black Samsung Galaxy S9 cellphone valued at $160,000 before quickly walking out of the yard.
He then entered a silver-coloured Bluebird motorcar with registration number PTT 2987, which headed in a southerly direction as he made good his escape.
Police have since arrested
three male suspects, who are presently in custody assisting with investigations.
This robbery came a month after a businessman and his family were terrorised and robbed of millions of dollars in cash and other valuables by gunmen dressed as Police, who stormed their home at Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
The businessman, owner of N. Sabar Cell Phone Connection, had gone with his wife and two sons to a mosque for prayer, and as family members was about to enter their yard, they were confronted by the group of armed men.
At the time, the perpetrators were reportedly carrying high powered weapons and cutlasses, but wore masks over their faces.
That family was robbed of $3 million and about 30 high-end mobile phones. (G9)
