Home News Huawei Technologies Ltd makes donation to GCOPD
Huawei Technologies Limited has recently donated 15 media pads to the Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities (GCOPD).
The media pads will be used in virtual education and training programmes within the organisation.
Physical attendance to educational programmes has been impacted as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19). As such, all GCOPD programmes are now being executed virtually leading to a demand for Internet-ready devices for the trainees and students.
To support Persons with Disabilities’ continuity of learning, the organisation reached out to Huawei Technologies for the provision of devices to assist its members.
The management of GCOPD has expressed its gratitude to Huawei Technologies for the donation. It further highlighted that the devices would ensure Persons with Disabilities who are in remote areas of Guyana are able to access virtual education and training programmes.
GCOPD is the umbrella body that represents the majority of organisations focusing on Persons with Disabilities of all types across Guyana, working in the areas of advocacy and capacity building.
