Inspire Inc to host 5th Annual Phagwah Mela at National Stadium

Come Sunday, March 12, the parking area of the Guyana National Stadium is expected to be packed to capacity as Inspire Incorporated hosts its 5th Annual Phagwah Mela with special focus on the 100th Year of the Abolition of Indian Indentureship.
Inevitably, the event would be one of the biggest to be held around the country, as people from all walks of life are expected to gather at the venue to partake in the festivities of Holi. There will be an abundance of water, colourful powder and abeer at the event, to guarantee patrons have the best time of their lives.bleh
Sprinkles would be set up, food stalls would be in place; and already, the artistes are rearing to begin their performance. This year, the entertainment group will be concentrating on promoting local artistes, and from all indications, those slated to perform will undoubtedly mesmerize the patrons.
Those slated to perform are the members of the Shakti Strings Band, including Steven Ramphall, Aamir Khan, Roger Bowen and the master on the Key Boards, Avenash Roopchand. In addition, former GTT Jingle and Song Competition Finalist Carlvin Burnette and members of the Heatwaves Band are expected to grace the event for the first time.
Rumour is that Former Miss World Guyana, Lisa Punch, would also be performing. As usual, the members of the Ishara Dance Group will be performing several pieces. The party will get hotter as Team MMR takes the party hype to another level among the crowd.  There are also expected to be several surprise acts that will thrill the audience. Admission to the event is absolutely free. Upon entry into the venue, persons will be given free powder and abrack.
