Dear Editor,
The recent events of flooding that occurred across our nation is extremely devastating. Many have lost their homes and much more, as we can see daily in the media and in other mediums, where pictures and videos are depicting the water levels in some areas in Guyana covering homes.
I note and applaud the initiatives so far implemented by the CDC and the Government of Guyana. However, we must think ahead; proactive approaches are needed! While we set up temporary shelters, as I saw the CDC is saying, while we may not know whether this is to occur next year or ten years from today, it is always better to be prepared. May we all continue to stay safe during this time.
