defeated current Super 50 overs champions Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday.
Barbados won the toss and took first strike to reach 140-6 from their 20 overs. The player of the match Shaquana Quintyne, who batted in the middle order top scored with 56 not out. Her innings was a responsible one which lasted 43 balls and included two fours and two sixes.
Quintyne shared in a valuable fifth wicket partnership worth 35 runs with Aaliyah Alleyne. That innings ensured that Barbados set a competitive total so their bowlers can defend. Barbados opener Kycia Knights also chipped in with 29, comprising four fours and a six.
As she did in the first game, Erva Giddings led Guyana’s attack claiming 2-34 from her four overs. Kesia Schultz and Tremane Smartt took a wicket each.
Meanwhile in reply, the host only managed 91 runs while losing five wickets in the process. Once again Shamaine Campbelle (43 not out) top scored, but this time in a losing effort. Akaze Thompson was with her at the end on 10 not out while Melanie Henry (10) and Latoya Smith (13) were the other batters to reach double figures.
Alleyne and Deandra Dottin were the chief wicket takers for the visitors, finishing with two wickets apiece.

In the day’s first game, Jamaica topped Leeward Islands by eight wickets. Batting first Leewards were limited to 61-9 as only Jennison Richards 16 and Amanda Edwards 15 not out past 10. Shanel Daley was the architect for Jamaica with 5-11 from four overs. Roshana Outar who was once again impressive and Chadean Nation contributed by taking a wicket each.
In response to the small total Stephanie Taylor, West Indies women’s captain stroke her way to an unbeaten top score of 35 while Jodian Morgan hit 19.
It was also the second win for the current champions Jamaica.
In the final match of day two,
The tournament continues tomorrow with three more matches also at Providence. The Windwards take on the Leewards from 9:00h then Guyana battle with Trinidad & Tobago from 14:00h before Jamaica and Barbados take the field at 19:00h under the lights.The final match of the night ended in victory for Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) who beat the Windward Islands by 73 runs in a high intensity game.
T&T won the toss and were stuttering at 24/3 but Captain Marissa Aguilleira and Britney Cooper put on 97 runs for the fourth wicket that resulted in their team making a respectable 139/4. Cooper made 51 (49b; 6×4) while Aguilleira got to her half century off the last ball of the innings from the 36th ball she faced. She was very busy at the crease hitting three fours and one towering six.
Akeira Peters picked up three wickets for 26 runs.
Windwards, despite not challenging the target frustrated the Trinidadians getting to 66 all out in the 19th over.
