JC Chandisingh Secondary, Tutorial Academy, Berbice High School, and Skeldon Line Path booked their places in the Region Six Ancient Regional finals following semi-final victories on Friday in the Youth Basketball Guyana competition.
The winning teams will now turn their attention to the regional finals scheduled for June 25, where JC Chandisingh Secondary will face Tutorial Academy in the girls’ championship game, while Berbice High School and Skeldon Line Path will clash in the boys’ final.

In the girls’ division, JC Chandisingh Secondary secured a 14-8 victory over Vryman’s Erven to earn their place in the title match.
Shequeen Collins led the way for the winners with eight points and was named Player of the Game, while Mayah Wahab contributed four points. Vryman’s Erven was paced by Venicia Myres, who scored six points in the losing effort.
Tutorial Academy joined JC Chandisingh in the final after producing an emphatic 18-2 victory over Skeldon Line Path in the second semi-final.
Jelicia Myers delivered a standout performance with 12 points, two rebounds and two steals to claim Player of the Game honours. Jada Alexander also made a strong contribution with eight points, three rebounds and four steals as Tutorial Academy dominated the contest from start to finish.
The boys’ semi-finals produced more competitive encounters.
Berbice High School edged JC Chandisingh Secondary 28-23 to secure their place in the championship game.
Avion Kesney starred for Berbice High with a game-high 18 points and was named Player of the Game, while Shimron Jafer supported with six points and five rebounds. JC Chandisingh was led by Donaldo Henry’s 14 points, while Mark Mendonca added eight points.
The second boys’ semi-final saw Skeldon Line Path hold off Berbice Educational Institute (BEI) for a narrow 23-20 victory.
Daniel Joel Sukram produced an impressive all-round display with 14 points and three rebounds to earn Player of the Game honours. Daniel Duke chipped in with eight points and four steals for the winners, while Shaquan Mark led BEI with eight points and three rebounds.
With the semi-finals now completed, attention shifts to June 25, when the Region Six ancient regional champions will be crowned.
