Joseph’s 5-fer leads Boston Eagles to comfortable win

Former Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club player Kumar Joseph continues to shine in the United States of America. Playing for the Boston Eagles, Joseph claimed 5-30 in eight overs to lead Boston Eagles to a five-wicket win against St Columba’s in a Division A 40-over match at Wrentham II.
Batting first, St Columba’s Cricket Club posted 116 all out in 35.4 overs. Nithyanandan Chellamuthu top-scored with 37 while Suman Kant made 23, but it was not enough as the off-spinner Joseph destroyed the batting line-up in his impressive eight overs, that only yielded 30 runs and produced five wickets.
In reply, Boston Eagles reached 118-5 with Nikhil Nethaji Reedy scoring 29 and Shaquille Williams scoring 28. Joseph also contributed 12 with the bat, and Harshal Patil made an unbeaten 16 to see the Eagles home. Kant took 2-25 in a losing effort. Joseph was awarded Player of the Match for his top bowling effort.
