Home Sports Joshua Generation Youth Ministry to host knockout Futsal Competition
The National Gymnasium will come alive on March 21, 2019 as the Love and Faith World Outreach Ministries will be hosting its first-ever Inter-Church Youth Group Kingdom Knock Futsal Competition 2019.
Organised by the Joshua Generation Youth Ministry, located on Dennis Street, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, the competition is a 5-a-side knockout format, whereby each team will be allowed two substitute players.
According to Joshua Generation Youth Ministry President Clayon Halley, the competition is intended to target church youth groups, but if other youth organisations want to participate, they will be allowed.
Halley also stated that the aim was to promote/encourage youths in the church to get more involved in sports and more so, create a competition that offers clean fun and entertainment for the entire family.
Halley told this publication that there would be cash, trophies and medals up for grabs, but the competition comes with a twist as the winning team will be using a portion of the cash prize to facilitate a community project in their community and the rest will go towards sports development for the group.
There will be other attractions such as folk/traditional games prior to the start of the futsal competition.
Gates open from 12:00h and the entrance fee is just $100.
The Joshua Generation Youth Ministry is also inviting businesses and individuals to come on board as sponsors for the event.
