December 26 will be the day it all goes down as thousands are expected to flock the Kennard Memorial Turf Club for their annual Boxing Day Horse Meet at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice. As such Honurary President of the Club Justice Cecil Kennard is elated with the turnout of sponsors for the event.

Kennard has noted that he is grateful to the many sponsors on board as they have rushed in, eager to be a part of this grand meet. He related that he is extremely grateful to stalwart sponsors like, DDL who has been on board for over 40 years, Torginal Paint for 25 years, P&P Insurance Brokers for over 20 years and Metro who has been sponsoring the first place prize for the feature event for the past 10 years. Kennard also stated that the owner of Metro Ron Ramnarayan’s father was the former President of the club before he migrated, and in honour of him they have renamed one of the stands after him, under the name: “The Deo Kharag Memorial Stand”.
A total of 60 horses are expected for the event such as Don’t Over Look, Jus Call Me Bass, Vera’s Finally, Storm Bird, Lucky Star, TNT, Golden Blue Ecko, Not This Time, Justify the Heat, and the newly imported Santa Cruz Lady and Golden Dancer. Top stables such as Jumbo Jet Racing Stables, Fazal Habbibulla Stables, Chris Jagdeo Stables, Lenny Singh Stables, Nand Persaud Stables among others will also be participating
