Kevin Persaud ready to compete with the “big boys”
Caribbean Motor Racing Championships….
The days are drawing closer for the final leg of this year’s Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) at the South Dakota Circuit from November 12-13 and one competitor, who is eagerly anticipating the challenge is 17 year-old Kevin Persaud.

iker events are seemingly the main allure with Mohammed Enterprise bringing two International riders to compete; not to mention the usual suspects such as Mathew, Stephen and Elliot Vieira, who will be battling for the CMRC Super stock title.
When Guyana Times Sport spoke to rider on Sunday as he underwent practice sessions at the circuit, he explained that despite some top riders will be on show he is no way daunted by the challenge.
“Having all these hyped competitors is a motivation for me, it has helping me reach where I want; I’m actually glad for it and the experience”, the motor biker stated.
Persaud’s machine of choice is a 2011 Kawasaki ZX6R, which he explained is “working pretty perfect, and is hoping to get some fine tuning done to get it to the maximum, “right now it is working at 80% hopefully the tune guy gets it to 100%”.
Last November, the rider finished second, third and fourth respectively in his three races and is most enthused about bettering his performances this coming Sunday.
“Everyone is always looking to do better and I’m excited about the prospect of doing even better than last year; I really can’t wait for Sunday”, he confidently stated. Quizzed on what fans can expect he responded saying, “I’m hoping to give the fans a threat, give them a good time, so come Sunday, it will be fun!”
The motor biker who can began competing since the age of 14, will be attending his fourth Caribbean Championship has already begun making plans travel to the other three legs (Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados) next year.
In closing Persaud expressed great thanks to supporters such as Rio Inn, Chico Ramus and his father, who has been working with him since he started racing.
