As part of their Social Crime Prevention Strategy, the Guyana Police Force “A” Division will be hosting a five-a-side football competition today at the National Gymnasium.
The event is expected to have a turnout of over 800 youths from 21 youth groups within ‘A’ Division.
Earlier in the week, during a simple handover ceremony at KFC’s Head Office on Vlissengen Road, L. Blair-McGregor, the Community Relations Officer of ‘A’ Division, expressed her gratitude to the management of KFC for donating to such a great cause. Blair said, “This initiative is aimed at transforming youths, not only through education, but through sports.”
She mentioned that this is the second donation from KFC in just one month. KFC previously donated a sum of money to the GPF’s Annual Career Day, an event which was aimed at bringing communities together and strengthening the relationship with the public.
KFC’s Marketing Manager, Livasti Bhooplall, has stated: “We would like to commend the Guyana Police Force for their initiative of working with these youths to show them a path of discipline through education and sports. KFC Guyana wishes the Guyana Police Force the very best for this event, and we know that the youths, through this initiative, will help to develop their confidence, to prepare them for an exciting future ahead.”
