KSM Investments Inc, a giant in the manufacture of concrete products, has continued its support of the Kennard Memorial Turf Club ahead of that club’s Boxing Day horse race meet.

Yesterday at the club’s Bush Lot Farm location on the Corentyne Coast in East Berbice, Justice (retd) Cecil Kennard received from KSM Investments Inc a sponsorship cheque and trophy for this much anticipated horse-racing event, which will be held on Thursday, December 26.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KSM Investments, Mahadeo Panchu, in presenting this company’s sponsorship, remarked that sport is a unifying force in the country and it promotes cohesion.
“I am amazed at the crowds (that) turn out there at the horse racing (meets)… So, we recognize the importance of horse racing, especially in the Corentyne area. We will continue to support the club in a much bigger way, and it all depends on the growth of the economy, Panchu explained.

Panchu declared that Justice (retd) Cecil Kennard has always been a good friend of his family for many years.
“He must be commended for his great efforts at this age he has continued. We would want to do more for Kennard’s Turf Club, and we will continue to support”, Panchu concluded.
Justice (retd) Kennard, in response, expressed satisfaction that KSM has again come on board for the Boxing Day meet for a third year. “Not only in the Boxing Day meeting, but KSM has supported for other horse-racing events,” he said.
“We at Kennard Memorial Turf Club appreciate this great gesture, and as I have been saying regularly, sponsorship is necessary for hosting successful events”, Justice (retd) Kennard said.
With a little humour, he wished KSM a fruitful year ahead for business, and said he is seeking an additional sum of money.
The Boxing Day Meet will have seven events on the programme, and the penultimate event of the day, “the Metro Million Mile”, which will be open to all horses, will be the main event. This feature event will be run over one mile for a winner’s prize of $1million along with a trophy. (Brandon Corlette)
