LABA to host 3-on-3 Bball, Futsal tournament over the weekend

– AGM scheduled for February 10

The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) will tonight stage a 3-on-3 basketball championship which will culminate on Sunday. And also planned is a big futsal clash featuring the basketball crew against a Central Mackenzie unit for Sunday along with the semi-finals and final of the 3-on-3 finals at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.
The LABA will next Sunday afternoon stage its Annual General Meeting and elections for its two-year office term from 17:00h at the MSC Lounge and the affiliated clubs Half Mile Bulls, Victory Valley Royals, Retrieve Raiders, Banker Trust Falcons, Block 22 Flames and Amelia’s ward Jets are invited to send four representatives of which two will be allowed to vote.
However, the basketball clubs are reminded that they will have to pay their affiliation dues and register their players for the new basketball season before the AGM and elections next Sunday.
The 3-on-3 will bounce off after the teams are registered this evening for the preliminary round of the two-day championship which starts at 18:30h.
The LABA has planned the 3-on-3 competition knowing that there is only one available backboard now at the MSC hard court and they will be utilising the area of the half court which has the backboard and ring.
Females who arrive before 19:30h will be allowed in free.
The 3-on-3 and futsal will have at stake cash incentives and trophies for the winners and will be done compliments of Nedd’s Dollar Wings, 104.3 Power FM, NCN Linden, Think Green, Bling Power Juice and the Mackenzie Sports Club.
