Labourer accused of theft attacked, chopped

Twenty-three-year-old Oslin Lewis, a labourer of Fourth Street, Kingston, was on Monday attacked and chopped by another man who had accused him of theft.
Police stated that on the day in question at about 17:00h, Lewis was playing football at Laing Avenue, Georgetown, when the suspect walked up to the young man and accused him of stealing from him. At the time, the suspect was armed with a cutlass.
An argument reportedly broke out between the men during which the suspect chopped the victim to his right elbow. After committing the act, the suspect fled the scene.
However, the victim sustained injuries and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was treated.
The matter was subsequently reported to the Police who have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
