Lawrence Simon returns as LABA President

The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) will be led by Lawrence “Larry” Simon for another two years after being re-elected unanimously to serve when the six affiliated clubs voted en bloc for his slate at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Biennial Elections last Sunday at the Mackenzie

Others returning to serve are second Vice President Eze Wilson, Secretary Joseph Chapman and Organising Secretary Christopher Pollydore. Abdulla Hamid who headed the association a few years ago is back as the first vice president while Tandica Fraser is the Treasurer and Kevin Sullivan the assistant treasurer with Joel Webster as assistant Secretary.

The Public Relations Officer is Tracy Liverpoole with Kevin “Two Feet” Joseph and Eusi Francis returning as Committee members along with Hubert Wade of Kwakwani.

The clubs that attended the AGM were Retrieve Raiders, Amelia’s Ward Jets, Bankers Trust Falcons, Kwakwani and Victory Valley Royals. The only club which failed to turn up were the Half Mile Bulls while Wismar Pistons who were absent from competitive basketball recently is set to be affiliated once again.

The association has set Saturday for their first executive meeting at a venue to be named.
