The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), in keeping with their mandate to assist clubs across the country, recently donated one Honda brush cutter to the LBI Community Center Cricket Club.
CB’s timely gesture to the club came on Wednesday, June 20, at a brief presentation which took place at the GCB office on Regent Road, Bourda. Present at the mini ceremony was president of the club, Yeuraj Khemraj, along with members of the board.
Khemraj, who received the brush-cutter on behalf of the club, was in high spirits. He said the piece of machinery would come in useful for the maintenance of the East Coast ground.
The board has donated brush cutters to several locations across Guyana, including Bayroc and East Bank as well as the University of Guyana Turkeyen Campus. The aim thereof is assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of cricket grounds in these areas.
It was with the aims of ensuring that cricketers in the area can benefit from the donation, and that the club would be able to function effectively to prepare facilities in a timely manner to accommodate matches and practice sessions that the contribution was made.
