The Leeward Islands Under-19s Women secured a four-wicket victory over Guyana Under-19s Women in Round Five of the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championship.
Guyana won the toss and elected to bat first, but struggled to build momentum, posting 97 for nine from their allotted 20 overs.
Opener Jada Fraser top-scored with 19 from 18 balls, while Allia Henry contributed 13 from 22 deliveries. However, regular wickets prevented Guyana from establishing a substantial total.
Quinya Dasent and Sanjana Bhoojraj were the chief destroyers with the ball for the Leeward Islands, claiming three wickets apiece, while Aaliyah Weekes supported with two for 11.

Chasing 98 for victory, the Leeward Islands reached 98 for six in 17 overs to complete the win.
Jahkazia Smith anchored the chase with a patient 21 from 42 balls, while Weekes added a valuable 18 from 21 deliveries to help guide her side over the line.
Guyana’s Shenesa Thomas was the standout bowler, producing an excellent spell to finish with four wickets for 22 runs. Christina Jackson and Danellie Manns claimed one wicket each, but their efforts were not enough to prevent the Leeward Islands from securing victory.
The result saw the Leeward Islands Under-19s Women complete a four-wicket win, while Guyana were left to reflect on another challenging outing in the championship.
