Defending champions Leonora will put their hopes of retaining the Courts Optical Pee Wee football title on the line today when they face St Theresa in the round of 16 at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The champions’ encounter is scheduled for 13:00h and forms part of an eight-match programme on Saturday, with the winners advancing to the quarter-finals.
Leonora’s meeting with St Theresa will share the time slot with Pakuri’s clash against Tucville as all four teams seek to extend their stay in the competition.
The afternoon’s action begins at 12:00h, when Redeemer take on Potaro, and St John meet GIA 1. Those opening encounters will decide the first two teams through to the next round.
West Ruimveldt and Plaisance will then meet at 14:00h, while St Pius faces Marian Academy at the same time.
The programme concludes with another pair of fixtures at 15:00h. Santa Rosa Secondary will take on St Gabriel, while GIA 2 face Waramuri for the remaining quarter-final places.
