The road leading to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, West Coast Demerara (WCD) is in need of urgent

rehabilitation.
The road is in a poor condition with numerous potholes. The Leonora Cottage Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) and as such the road should reflect such, Regional Chairman Julius Faerber told this publication.
According to the chairman, he has made numerous calls to have the road rectified but to no avail.
Thus he is calling once again for urgent attention to be placed on the road by the Public Infrastructure Ministry.
Health officials at the hospital have also been calling for the road to be rectified as it proves difficult for vehicles, especially ambulances that use the road.
The Public Infrastructure Ministry could not be reached for a comment on the issue on Saturday.
