“Like you is a bad man” – gunmen to attempted murder victim shot multiple times

One day after US deportee Clinton Chase had been shot and killed in Middle Road, La Penitence Georgetown, 26-year-old Shane Bourne of Laing Avenue, Georgetown was shot multiple times on Monday in an attempt to take his life.
While the police did not release any information about the shooting, Guyana Times understands that the injured man was reportedly trailed from his home as he made his way to Middle Road, La Penitence to purchase food.

Reports are that the gunmen were on a red motorcycle, and the pillion rider confronted Bourne and asked, “Like you is a bad man?”, soon after which several gunshots rang out and Bourne collapsed to the ground.
After committing the act, the two men made good their escape, while the injured man was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he has been admitted a patient under guard.
In October 2023, Bourne and another man had been jointly charged with attempted murder. It has been reported that on October 12, 2023, at Independence Boulevard in Georgetown, one of these two men discharged a loaded firearm at 18-year-old Sherwin Bobb, 41-year-old Seon Ross, and 37-year-old Hamilton Dickerson, who
reportedly were liming when Bourne and the other man rode up on motorcycle CM 6629 and one of them opened fire on the men. Bourne and the other man were later apprehended after fleeing the scene.
Bourne’s shooting comes less than 24 hours after Clinton Chase of Middle Road La Penitence was riddled with bullets at his home on Sunday evening. He was reportedly shot about the body, including his head, arm and chest.
The perpetrator had reportedly been hiding in Chase’s house, and opened fire on him as he was making his way into the house. No arrest has as yet been made, but police are continuing their investigations.
