Linden roads suffer massive erosion

Residents of Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) are presently seeking assistance from the relevant authorities to save several eroded sections of the main access road which leads to the Dakoura Water Site at Wismar.
Numerous sections of the road which also leads to developing communities such as Block 56 Kularu are presently impassable to vehicles.
Residents recently formed a self-help team with the aim of fixing the situation but are in need of urgent assistance from the region.
Some sections of the road which is mainly utilised by heavy-duty vehicles are affected and as such, residents have erected signs warning motorists and pedestrians of the dangers while using the roadway.
Only recently, Environmental Engineer Samuel Wright had cited the importance of protecting the area around the Dakoura watershed – the main source of water on the Wismar shore.
