Linden taxi driver busted with 8kg ganja along Linden-Soesdyke Highway

A 31-year-old taxi driver of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) was on Monday arrested with a quantity of cannabis at One Mile Turn, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Police stated that ranks, acting on information received, conducted an operation that led to the interception of a motorcar being driven by the suspect.
During the operation, a search was conducted on the suspect and on the vehicle, during which a salt bag containing several bulky parcels with ganja was found.
The suspect was escorted to the Timehri Police Station along with the suspected cannabis, which was weighed and amounted to 8.903 kilograms. The suspect remains in custody pending charges.
