Home Sports Linden Town Week U-19 basketball tourney commences on Saturday
The Linden Town Week Under-19 Schools Basketball tournament will start on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader at the Mackenzie High School basketball court in Retrieve, Mackenzie.
The tournament’s opening fixture pits Christianburg-Wismar Secondary and New Silvercity Secondary from 14.30hrs, while the second game, at 15.30hrs, will see Linden Foundation Secondary coming up against hosts Mackenzie High School.
New Silvercity Secondary’s Sports Club hard court is not in use for the absence of a backboard, which was accidentally damaged last year and has not yet been replaced despite efforts to do so.
Christianburg-Wismar Secondary and Wisburg Secondary are in Group ‘A’, as is New Silvercity Secondary; while Group ‘B’ has Linden Foundation, Linden Technical Institute and Mackenzie High.
The Mackenzie High School basketball court has been chosen as the venue to stage the games since the Mackenzie Sports Club remains without a backboard being acquired as yet.
