Linden woman slapped with assault charge

A woman, who hails from Block 22 Wismar, Linden was slapped with an assault charge last week when she appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
Amanda Gordon, 22, was granted bail in the sum of ,000 after the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm was read to her. She pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on Friday, April 29, she unlawfully assaulted Tamara Douglas at Block 22, Wismar. The matter is set to continue on April 29.
Soesdyke resident fined for traffic violation
Jason Williams, 28, was fined ,000 for a traffic offence when he appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
The defendant of Lot 2930 Soesdyke/Linden Highway was charged with breach of the road regulation, in that he drove up a one-way street.
The court heard that he drove lorry GTT 7806 West along Greenheart Street, Mackenzie, Linden on April 27 when which he was accosted by Police and told of the offence.
Failure to pay the fine will result in a default sentence of two weeks imprisonment.
