CJIAC boys win Inter-Ministry tapeball competition

The boys from Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation (CJIAC) were crowned champions of the Inter-Ministry tape-ball competition on Thursday last after defeating the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by three wickets in the final.
Batting first, EPA amassed 76-6 in their allotted eight overs with P. Jermaine top scoring with 22 and D. George contributing 21. K. De Jonge of CJIAC picked up 2-2, while R. Sargeant bagged 2-8.
In reply, CJIAC knocked off the runs with three wickets to spare with A. Mohabir making 27 and S. Wong 15.

In their first game, CJIAC defeated Demerara Harbour Bridge Company (DHBC) by 120 runs. CJIAC batted first and amassed 169 runs in eight overs with S. Wong scoring 100 not out. DHBC were bowled out for 49 with S. Wong grabbing 2-12 and K. De Jonge 1-8.
Earlier in the competition, Ministry of Education (MOE) knocked out Ministry of Public Infrastructure after defeating them by nine wickets. In their second round match, MOE lost to EPA by 36 runs.
The batsman with the highest runs in the final, A. Mohabir of CJIAC, was the recipient of a bat from the Minister of Agriculture.
