A lone gunman robbed a security guard attached to the Advance Security Services on Monday, relieving him of his mobile phone and a sum of cash.
Security officer Jairam Singh, 65, was riding his bicycle along Church Street, Georgetown when the perpetrator rode past him and made a sudden stop in his path.
The perpetrator then whipped out a handgun from his pants waist, pointed it at Singh, and ordered him to hand over his valuables. The scared security guard was relieved of his phone and close to $5000 which he had in his pockets before the perpetrator made good his escape.
The matter was reported to the Police, and an investigation has been launched.
