“Look out for the name Ruel Dindyal”

A recent MVP award will be the fuel in Ruel Dindyal’s engine as he hopes to become a mainstay on Guyana’s national cricket teams. Juggling the emotions after a loss, Dindyal was still confident in his future.
All things went in favour of Annandale Secondary earlier this week, who played at their home ground and went on to win the toss as they took on Berbice Educational Institute (BEI) in the Beharry Group Under-19 Secondary Schools’ T20 finale.
BEI would prove to be too strong for the East Coast side, subjecting the hosts to a 61-run loss and second place.
Discussing the turn of events, youth cricketer Ruel Dindyal could not hide his disappointment.

The teenager explained, following the final match, “To be honest, everybody went out with high energy; to be honest, we thought we would’ve won with the runs, but it didn’t go to plan.”
“To be honest, we felt proud, and we felt that this game was in grasp, in our hands, but as I said, it didn’t go to plan,” he added.
However, in spite of his team’s loss, Dindyal had still done enough to cart off the tournament’s most valuable player prize. He was the highest wicket-taker with 18 scalps and accumulated 211 runs across the tournament.
Reacting to the award, Dindyal divulged how he was able to remain consistent.
“It’s easy. When I went out, if I didn’t do well with the bat, I took the responsibility to do well with the ball. So, that’s the main focus on it,” Dindyal shared with this publication.
While the young man is no stranger to national selection or reserves, Dindyal still hopes his recent performances have caught the eyes of the selectors.
“It feels good. How I picked up the ball after a while, so I hope the selectors see and see what I have to offer,” he said.
Dindyal further assured, “Well, I won’t get your hopes up, but look out for me in the Inter-Association for East Coast and everything. So, just listen for the name Ruel Dindyal. I got y’all.”
