In a landmark development that underscores the meteoric rise of grassroots cricket in the region, FL Sport has officially unveiled the Guyana Lottery Company (GLC), through its premier sports betting brand Let’s Bet, as the new title sponsor for the fourth edition of the One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast.
The high-profile announcement was made on Sunday during a glamorous tournament launch at RS53 Etkezo inside the Amazonia Mall.
It served as a grand prelude to what is widely regarded as the marquee tapeball tournament in the Caribbean, which was graced by Ministers Charles Ramson Jr and Steven Jacobs, along with Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle, and various team stakeholders.
The launch also provided a first look at the tournament’s bespoke silverware, featuring a striking fusion of traditional wooden craftsmanship and cutting-edge 3D design.
With an expansive field of 80 teams from across Guyana expected to vie for supremacy, the tournament has secured financial backing that completely redefines the economics of domestic tapeball.
Speaking at the launch, GLC General Manager Kalima Ali expressed the corporation’s pride in aligning with a tournament that captures the raw passion of Guyanese cricket.

 “At the Guyana Lottery Company, through our Let’s Bet brand, we are thrilled to become the title sponsor of the One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast,” Ali stated.
“Tapeball is the bedrock of community cricket in Guyana, and this tournament embodies unity, talent, and sheer excitement. Our investment is a testament to our commitment to sports development and to empowering local athletes across every region by providing them with a grand stage to showcase their skills.”
Tournament Director John Ramsingh expressed profound gratitude to the GLC, noting that the partnership elevates the competition to unprecedented professional heights.
Ramsingh thanked Kares Engineering Inc for their support over the past three years, noting they have given the tournament immense momentum.
The 2026 edition introduces a groundbreaking, tiered financial structure designed to reward performance from the earliest stages.
In a departure from traditional knockout formats where early exits yield no return, losing teams at the zonal quarter-final stage are guaranteed $25,000, while losing semi-finalists at the zonal level will pocket $50,000.
The stakes escalate progressively, with the losing zonal finalist receiving $200,000, culminating in a handsome $500,000 purse for the respective zonal champions before they even transition into the national bracket.
The crescendo of the tournament will see the stakes reach their absolute peak during the national playoffs.
The ultimate crown jewels of the 2026 season await the finalists: the crowned national champions will walk away with a massive $2,000,000 first-prize purse, while the runners-up will secure $1,000,000.
The two losing national semi-finalists will not leave empty-handed, with each earning $500,000.
Crucially, global aspirations are also on the line, as the top four national finalists will earn automatic qualification berths to represent Guyana at a proposed Global T10 Tapeball Blast.
The tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) is set to drive away with a brand-new motorbike alongside a $150,000 cash prize.
The batsman with the most runs will claim $100,000, a prize matched for the top wicket-taker, who will take home $100,000, complemented by a new television set.
Additional performance-based accolades will also be presented for the highest strike rate and the most economical bowler of the tournament.
With the lucrative structure locked in, organisers have issued an urgent directive to regional teams to secure their spots immediately, cautioning against delaying registration to tinker with squad selection as spots are expected to fill rapidly.

The tournament caravan officially commences with the Berbice Zone on August 8-9 across four premier venues – including the historic Port Mourant Community Centre Ground, the No 69 Ground, and the Welfare Ground in Canje – before concluding with the zonal finals at the Albion Sports Complex on August 9.
The action then moves swiftly to the East Bank/West Demerara leg on August 15-16, followed by the Essequibo Zone on August 22-23.
Following a temporary hiatus for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the tournament resumes with the powerhouse Georgetown/East Coast Demerara leg on September 26-27 and October 3-4.
In a historic first for the competition, the national grand finale on October 11, 2026, will be hosted at the Anna Regina National Stadium in Region Two, bringing the absolute pinnacle of Guyanese tapeball cricket directly to the passionate fans of Essequibo.
