Over the past few weeks, the secret has been let of the bag – yes, “Bazodee” is heading Guyana’s way – a movie that has been creating some stir, starring Soca King Machel Montano. The movie will be opened at the Princess Movie Theaters and at Caribbean Cinemas Giftland Mall on Tuesday, September 15.
By now, movies lovers would have been checking with the theaters to enquire about the release of tickets but according to information received, tickets for the movies will be available this weekend.
Movie synopsis
Anita Ponchouri (Natalie Perera), the dutiful daughter of a deep in debt Indian businessman (Kabir Bedi) is about to marry a wealthy Londoner (Staz Nair) when a chance encounter with Soca singer, Lee de Leon (Soca music Superstar Machel Montano in his film debut) sets things askew.
In search of a muse, de Leon agrees to perform at the engagement party for both families. Unable to deny their mutual attraction, Anita must now choose between the answer to her family’s financial prayers and the possibility of real love.
Pulsing with the sensuous dance rhytmns of Carnival and set against the vivid tropical colors of Trinidad, BAZODEE is a new style Bollywood musical with a distinctly Caribbean island flavor.
