Mabaruma man stabbed to death by reputed wife

A businessman of Mabaruma, North West District, Region One (Barima-Waini) was stabbed to death by his reputed wife during an argument.
The dead man has been identified as 49-year-old Colin Campbell, and the incident occurred at some time around 17:30h on Friday.
According to Police reports, Campbell and his 44-year-old reputed wife were imbibing when a heated argument erupted between them. During the confrontation, the enraged suspect armed herself with a knife and stabbed her partner to his left side ribs, causing him to collapse. The Police, when summoned, found the man lying on his back in an unconscious and motionless state. Shortly after, he was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor. His body was then taken to the Mabaruma Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post mortem examination.
The incident was witnessed by a handyman in the area, and he informed investigators that it was Campbell’s wife who had fatally stabbed him.
The woman was arrested, and during questioning, admitted to committing the act.
The murder weapon – a brown- handle knife – was recovered at the scene covered in blood.
Investigations are ongoing.
