Mahaica businessman charged for discharging loaded firearm

Sixty-year-old Harrielall Motilall, also called “Jinga Harry”, was on Wednesday arraigned for discharging a loaded firearm when he appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
Police stated that on September 15, 2020 at Unity Foreshore, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD), he discharged a loaded firearm with intent at Kim Calistro.
He appeared before Magistrate Faboye Azore and pleaded not guilty to the charge and as such, he was released on $300,000 bail.
In addition, he was charged for being in possession of components of a firearm without being a holder of the relevant licence. Motilall also pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.
He will make his next court appearance on October 16, 2020 at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court.
