New York National Cricket League…
– Patadin’s all-round brilliance, Narine’s red hot form responsible
In action in the New York National Cricket League (NYNCL) over the weekend, Chris Patadin and Derick Narine were jointly responsible for the Majestic Cricket Club inflicting a convincing defeat on their Pehowa Warriors counterparts as the Majestics continued their dominance of this league.
In this match, Patadin scored a brilliant 109 runs off 56 balls and bagged 2 wickets, while Narine contributed a fine knock of 83 runs off 54 balls as the Majestics decimated the Pehowa Warriors by 135 runs.
The Warriors were simply not up to the task of contesting against the Majestics, who commenced their powerplay overs with the pitch suited for batting.
Patadin and Narine laced into their opponents, smacking boundaries and maximums to every part of the ground. Their combined class and aggression tormented the opposition as they put together a 160-run stand.
Eventually, Narine got out for 83, which included 7 boundaries and 4 maximums.
Patadin, however, continued to destroy the opposition even though two more Majestics’ wickets fell for a combined total of six runs.
In the end, the Majestics recorded 220 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs, with Patadin contributing 109 runs which included 13 boundaries and 4 maximums.
The Warriors’ bowlers who took wickets were Sukwhinder Singh, with 2 for 40; Lovejeet Singh, with 1 for 26; and Sandeep Singh, with 1 for 27.
Needing 221 runs to win off 120 balls, the Warriors had their work cut out for them. They knew they had to get going from ball one, but they didn’t get things their way, and were eventually dismissed for 85 runs.
The only person to register a score worth mentioning was Mandeep Singh, with 43 runs off 28 balls. Every other batsman failed to read the line and length of the bowlers.
Bowling for the Majestics, Chris Patadin returned figures of 2-30; Pranay Subra Das returned figures of 3-25; Karamchand Ramnarine registered 3 for 8, while Mark Pooran and Vijai Hansraj each bagged a wicket.
