Man accused of forging invoices on bail

A 39-year-old man was on Wednesday slapped with seven fraud charges and later appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Darwin David, of Lot 11 Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty.
The charges stated that on June 24, 2019, at Camp Street, Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he uttered to Candacy McGregor seven forged invoices valuing at $22,441,903.15, dated from May 20, 2016, to September 24, 2018, purporting to show they were issued by the Giftland Office Max. David was represented by Attorney-at-Law Sase Gunraj, who asked that his client be released on reasonable bail.
The court Prosecutor did not object to bail being granted. David was released on $140,000 bail. The case will continue on January 8, 2020.
