Man arraigned for Circuit Ville murder

The businessman accused of being responsible for the stabbing death of 19-year-old Nyron Vyphuis at Circuit Ville, Yarrowkabra, Linden-Soesdyke Highway was on Wednesday arraigned for the heinous crime when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Anthony Jones, 40, of Circuit Ville, Yarrowkabra, was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Police stated that on October 13, 2018, at Circuit Ville, he murdered Vyphuis.
Defence Attorney James Bond asked for disclosure of the prosecution’s facts while in court on Wednesday.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne related that on the day in question the accused and his reputed wife were involved in an argument and he attempted to assault her, but the teenager intervened.
It was stated that Jones became annoyed and stabbed the teen to his stomach.
The teen was then picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Chief Magistrate remanded the father of five to prison, and adjourned the matter until November 6, 2018.
