Man arrested with gun, ammo after threatening to kill wife

A man is now in hot water after he was arrested with an illegal firearm and ammunition which he reportedly used to threaten his reputed wife on Monday evening. Based on reports received, a team of Police officers were on a mobile patrol when they received information of a 911 report of a domestic disturbance in Georgetown.
As a result, the Police officers went to the location where a woman claimed that her reputed husband had threatened to shoot her.
The ranks reportedly contacted the suspect and a search was conducted on his person during which a 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing three live rounds of ammunition were found in the crotch of his pants.
The serial number for the firearm was reportedly filed off. He was told of the offence, cautioned and arrested after he told ranks that he was not a licensed firearm holder.
He was charged and is expected to make his court appearance before the end of the week.
