Man caught on video shooting at fisherman arrested

In light of a video that went viral of a man discharging rounds at another at a city wharf, the police have arrested the shooter on Friday for questioning in relation to the incident. The gun used by the man was also lodged.

According to information received, the incident occurred at about 15:00h at the Pritipaul Singh Investment Wharf, Access Road, Mc Doom, Greater Georgetown.
Guyana Times was told that the victim had just returned from sea with his catch when the man demanded his portion but the victim refused.
This angered the man, who in retaliation attempted to pull in the boat by throwing an anchor towards it. As the boat reached close to the wharf, the man whipped out a firearm and discharged several rounds in the direction of the fisherman, who managed to take cover.
Police in a press statement stated that an investigation has been launched into the matter.
