A 48-year-old man is facing a drug-related charge following a targeted operation at Guinep Lane, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown on Thursday. Julian Aaron called “Stammer” appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Friday. 
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on June 2, he had 1.26 kilogrammes (2.2 pounds) of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was remanded to prison until July 7.
The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) reported that its ranks conducted an operation at Guinep Lane, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown which led to the discovery of a quantity of marijuana and several types of illegal ammunition. As a result, Julian Aaron and a 46-year-old woman were arrested.
The ammunition discovered included: a .40mm, 100 .38, two .38 short, and 27 9mm. No charges were laid against the woman in relation to the drug bust. Guyana Times understands that the Guyana Police Force (GPF) will institute charges against Julian Aaron for the illegal ammunition.
