Man get 4 months for stealing motorcycle

Emmanuel Lorry, 27, of East La Penitence Squatting Area, Georgetown, will spend the next four months in prison after he was found guilty of theft by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Lorry, who works as a Pork-knocker, was accused of stealing one Kiama motorbike valued 0,000, property of Isaac Booker, between April 30 and May 1, 2016. He maintained his innocence throughout his testimony, stating that he had never seen the Virtual Complainant (VC) before, prior to the allegation made against him.
However, Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones rebutted his argument by telling the court Lorry is known to the VC since records show they were high school classmates.
Lorry denied the prosecutor’s suggestion and ended his testimony refusing to call any witnesses to aid in his defence.
After a brief recess, Magistrate McLennan found Lorry guilty. Real and circumstantial evidence were taken into consideration by Magistrate McLennan before handing down sentence, in addition to the time the accused spent on remand.
Emanuel Lorry is said to have pending matters against him, of a similar nature, in court 12 of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
