The pedestrian, who was killed on Sunday afternoon after being hit by an alleged speeding truck along the Leonora Public Road, West Coast Demerara (WCD), has been identified as 39-year-old Romel Carter of Lot 498 D Field South Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
The dead man’s siblings, Kempton Carter and Karen Carter, visited the Police on Thursday and were taken to the funeral home where they positively identified the man.
The identification was made after the Police released the photo of the deceased for members of the public to assist in identifying him; the siblings were made aware that the person in the photograph appeared to be their brother.

Additionally, an ex-Police Officer who was passing the area when the fatal accident took place gave the Police enough information that led to the truck driver’s arrest.
