Market vendor intercepted with ganja during Police operation

A 28-year-old male vendor from River View, Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was taken into custody following the discovery of narcotics on Tuesday in the vicinity of Massy Supermarket, Ruimveldt.

Police stated that ranks, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence-led operation in the area where they contacted the suspect and requested to conduct a search of his belongings.
During the exercise, a black plastic bag containing the narcotics was found, thus leading to the arrest of the suspect, who was escorted to the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters, where the narcotics were weighed and amounted to four pounds.
The vendor remains in custody pending further investigation and charges.
