Home News Market vendor shot, chopped during attack
Quason Leacock, a 31-year-old vendor of D’Urban Backlands Squatting Area, Georgetown, is nursing gunshot and chop wounds after he was attacked by three persons at his home on Saturday.
The injured man reported that he was at home alone when the three men approached him and inquired if he had any issues with them.
Leacock identified two of the assailants by their nicknames – “Tallman” and “Buck” – though he remains unaware of their addresses.
The situation escalated as “Tallman,” who was brandishing a handgun, confronted Leacock and subsequently shot him in the left thigh after questioning any potential problems.
Adding to the brutality, “Buck” joined in by inflicting wounds on Leacock’s foot with a cutlass.
Following the attack, the assailants escaped. The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public-spirited citizens where he was treated and admitted in a stable condition.
Several persons were questioned regarding the incident and a manhunt has been initiated for the three men.
