− completing rehabilitation of ground next on the cards
The Bartica Football Association (BFA) wrapped up its senior league tournament in August of 2019 after eight clubs had participated in two episodes of round-robin competition over a period of five months.

From there, things progressed with them having lights installed at the Bartica Community Centre Ground in an effort to solve the issue of the lack of lights when night games take place.
However, things are not yet finished, as the Alden Marslowe-led association continues to improve the level of football
in Bartica.
The senior league commenced on March 9, 2019 and was
played at the Bartica Secondary School Ground among the following football clubs: Beacons, Rising Stars, Lazio, River’s View, Wolves United, Mil Ballers, Potaro Strikers, and Rising Stars. At the end of 56 matches, River’s View FC emerged champions, with 32 points from 14 matches.
The Bartica Community Centre Ground has, for some time now, been under rehabilitation, but with the constant factors being faced, Marslowe continues to make the most of the opportunities given to him during his tenure.
In February, over eight 1500-watt floodlights were donated by the Guyana Football Federation. According to Marslowe, the donation of floodlights basically speaks of the strength of the partnership’s dedication to advance football development in Bartica.
Marslowe has also said, “The BFA is looking forward to having return games against teams outside of the Bartica Association, (in order) to give our boys more exposure to competition. Along with inviting other associations to play against us, we also intend to participate in every inter-association tournament that the GFF puts out there.”
Marslowe has done much for football in Bartica, and has showcased his passion for the improvement of the sport in his region. Nevertheless, the BFA is faced with the task of completing the almost finished Bartica Community Centre Ground, which is the premiere recreational facility in Region 7.
