Mason jailed for 2 years on B&E charge

Romano Hamblin, 24, a mason of Mackenzie, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), was on Tuesday charged with Larceny in the Dwelling House contrary to Section 187 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act Chapter, 8:01.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, where he admitted to the offence.
Hamblin admitted that between May 27 and July 1, 2022, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Quinessa Kitt. This is not the first time he has been charged for such an offence.
Last July, Hamblin was charged with break and enter and larceny, contrary to Section 229 (a) of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01, which was committed on Angelina Yearwood, at Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
The defendant had also appeared before Magistrate Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read out to him and disposed of summarily.
Hamblin pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year in prison. To this most recent charge, he again pleaded guilty and was jailed for two years. (G9)
