Masters Academy and Sir Leon’s Lesson combined to score 25 of the 31 goals scored when the second round of the sixth annual Milo Schools Football Tournament continued at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue on Saturday.
Masters made the afternoon one to forget for inaugural champions St George’s High by sinking them 15-0 on the back of six goals from forward Tryone Khan. The diminutive player in stature scored in the 1st, 18th, 24th, 26th, 51st and 60th.
Well-rounded Support came from Carl Lynch (25th & 29th), Jonathon Bart (29th & 57th), Calvin Peters (48th & 66th), Elijah Fraser (20th), Isaiah Anderson (59th) and Shannon Sammauth (64th).

Meanwhile, Pure Masters who had the most sedate match of the day secured their first win by defeating School of the Nations 5-1. Goals were shared for most of the lads from Pure Masters as goal keeper Joel Murrary opened his team account with a penalty in the 24th while Junior Williams dab in the 28th took the scores to 2-0 at the interval. An own goal in the 43rd got the ball rolling again but School of the Nations eventually found some solace and scored in the 54th via Maris Dalima. Tyrese Ford (56th) and Brandon Solomon (59th) eventually put the match to bed.
When action continues today some more intriguing matches should take the field as Ann’s Grove do battle with Vergenogen Secondary from noon followed by Linden’s Christianburg/Wismar Secondary meeting Dolphin Secondary from 13:30h and the final match of the day being a tough one for The Bishops’ High School who tackle rampant 2017 runners-up Morgan’s Learning Centre from 15:00h.
All matches will again prove great significance as the battle for a top two group spot for round-of-sixteen spots intensifies.
