Melvin, Thomas net hat-tricks as Leonora and Belladrum secure wins

Defending champions Leonora Primary registered a commanding 5–1 victory over St Gabriel’s Primary, while Dextroy Thomas scored all three goals in Belladrum Primary’s 3–1 win over Soesdyke Primary as the Courts Optical Pee Wee football championship continued on Saturday, October 3.

Johnathan Melvin led Leonora’s attack with a hat-trick inside the opening seven minutes, helping his team record the biggest victory of the nine matches played.
Melvin struck in the first, second, and seventh minutes, with Neron Persaud adding another in the 17th minute and Elyon Hyman completing Leonora’s scoring in the 37th. Nathan Melville scored St Gabriel’s lone goal in the second minute.
Thomas was equally important to Belladrum’s success. He opened the scoring in the fifth minute and doubled his tally in the 29th before Soesdyke’s Judon De Jesus reduced the deficit in the 32nd. Thomas then completed his hat-trick in the 34th minute to secure the 3–1 result.
West Ruimveldt had to recover from an early setback before overcoming FE Pollard Primary 2–1. Malik Thorington put FE Pollard ahead in the fifth minute, but Kenneth Douglas equalised two minutes later. Jamiel Favourite scored the winner in the 18th minute.
St John the Baptist also secured a 2–1 victory, defeating Colaaco after establishing an early advantage. Elianna Grant scored in the first minute, and Chrystian Haly added a second in the 10th. Zahir Critchlow pulled one back for Colaaco in the 35th minute.
GIA 2 kept a clean sheet in their 2–0 win over St Aloysius Primary. Langdon Paulson broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute before Esa Mirza added the second in the 39th.
Meanwhile, Agatash Primary and Pakuri Primary each finished with one victory and one defeat from their two appearances.
Miles Schuman’s seventh-minute goal gave Pakuri a 1–0 win over Agatash. However, Pakuri were subsequently beaten by the same score-line when Giddian Baechues struck in the 37th minute for Redeemer Primary.
Agatash recovered to defeat Goed Fortuin Primary 1–0, with Vishnan Charls scoring the decisive goal in the 37th minute.
In the other encounter, Yoseph Rivers scored in the 18th minute as GIA 1 edged Marian Academy 1–0.
