Milo games on Sunday and Monday

The Milo Under-18 School’s Football tournament will return this holiday weekend, after taking a pause due to inclement weather.

The Milo School’s football tournament will resume this Sunday

The Milo tournament returned on the weekend of June 18 and 19, following a two-year hiatus as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, torrential rainfall in Georgetown took centre stage the following week, forcing organisers, the Petra Organization, to put the tournament on pause for a week, owing to concerns about the host venue.
Nonetheless, the Ministry of Education (MoE) Ground on Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown will play host to eight games on Sunday and Monday.
Highlighting that they wished to take advantage of the national holiday on Monday, July 4th, the games intended for last weekend will finally be staged.
On Sunday, Carmel Secondary School will take on the fearsome defending champions Christianburg Wismar Secondary of Linden from 12:30 hrs. the next game, at 14:00hrs, will see Marian Academy and West Ruimveldt Secondary going head-to-head, while Uitvlugt Secondary and Cummings Lodge Secondary do battle at 15:30hrs. the final game on Sunday will see North Ruimveldt Secondary and Canje Secondary hunting a spot in the next round of play.
On Monday, Caricom Day, an all-East Coast battle is up first, with Golden Grove Secondary and Annandale Secondary meeting in the first game, at 12:30hrs. Dolphin Secondary will lock horns with new Central High School at 14:00hrs, while Tucville Secondary and Friendship Secondary do battle at 15:30hrs. The final game on Monday would witness Lodge Secondary clashing with President’s College from 17:00hrs.
