A 21-year-old gold miner from Pattensen, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, was
taken into custody on Thursday after a quantity of cannabis was found in his possession during an operation at Arakaka, North West District (NWD).
According to reports, police acting on information received went to a compound where they observed the suspect acting in a suspicious manner.
He was subsequently searched, during which a transparent plastic bag containing the marijuana was found concealed in his underpants.
As such, he was escorted to the Arakaka Police Outpost, where the cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 22.5 grams. The suspect remains in custody pending charges.
